A non-profit arts organisation located in the historic Shandon area of Cork City, 15 minute drive from The Maryborough. Housed in a distinctive rotunda building, originally opened in 1855 as part of the Cork Butter Exchange, it is now a vibrant theatre and dance centre. Firkin Crane serves as the permanent base for Cork City Ballet and Crux Dance Theatre. After a fire in 1980, the building was restored and re-opened in 1992, becoming a hub for dance and performing arts in Cork.
