Cork is a very exciting place to visit, now so more than ever. We want to share some of the incredible things that you can do while enjoying a family break at the Maryborough Hotel.
Currently on offer are two night and three night family breaks. Each of these offers include breakfast daily, dinner on one evening in the 2 AA Rosette Bellini’s Restaurant, with 1 complimentary dinner for children.
We want all our guests to leave the hotel feeling totally relaxed and want to ensure they have fully utilised all the hotel has to offer. Children can choose from a range of activities, including an indoor play area, badminton, 9 hole Crazy Golf, 18m swimming pool and outdoor play areas with Ducks, Chickens and Rabbits. Mum and Dan can relax in the Zen Garden, revitalis in the award winning ESPA Spa, and take a time out in our thermal suites, which are fully accessible to all overnight guests. Picnics are available to have either in the magnificent setting of the 300 year old Listed Gardens or to take away.
Right on our door steps is Douglas Village boasting a state of the art newly renovated playground. For cycling or roller skating 1km away, in Rochestown, there is a long walkway with a number of routes. You can get to the newly built Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Blackrock Castle, Mahon Point or head into Monkstown.
For animal lovers Fota Wildlife Park, Leahys Open Farm and Rumleys Farm are all within a short commute to the hotel.
There are so many places to visit while you are in Cork, gorgeous little cafes as you head to the countryside and plenty of beaches along the coastlines (that is if you are lucky enough to have sunshine while you are here).
We are also very excited to share a new initiative that has arrived in Cork, a new 72-seater tour boat which has just been launched for the summer season connecting Cobh and Cork City. Ocean Escapes Harbour Tour of Cork is available all summer and will allow you to see some of Corks most beautiful sites. Make sure if you are sharing your journey on social media to tag #purecork in any of the gorgeous photos you take along the way. You can find more information on
Oceans Escapes Harbour Tour here
If you still haven’t filled up your time in Cork with all of the above activities, you might want to go out to Spike Island. Spike Island is a tourist attraction not to be missed. The Island is dominated by the 200 year old Fort Mitchel, the star shaped Fortress which became a prison holding over 2300 prisoners. You can find out more here
Finally, we would like to thank you for choosing to stay with us and hope you enjoy your time here. Please make sure to ask our team at the front of house for any ideas of suggestions on where you could visit while staying in Cork.
