Walking Trails

We are surrounded by beautiful scenic trails that are perfect for a stroll or brisk walk. Here are some of our favourites:

Blackrock to Mahon 8K. This is one of the most popular locations in Cork City for running and walking. Located just 3 kms east of the city centre, most of the route is on public walkways and is mostly free of traffic. It has largely flat with nice scenic views out over the river and harbour areas. Very easy to navigate as you are either following the river or staying on the public walkways. Check it out here.

Maradyke 5K.This route is located in the western half of the city and largely follows the River Lee. It uses a combination of public walkways, footpaths and quiet roads. The route is very flat. Ideal for anyone wishing to go for a short run. Check it out here.

Rockestown/Blackrock Loop. Just under 10K. Flat walk wilt a couple of minor climbs. Mix of cycle/path and road. Be sure to stop off at Blackrock Castle Cafe for a coffee or bite to eat.  Check it out here.
