Selfcare Monday - Protecting you skin during the change in weather

The temperatures have certainly dropped this week bringing colder weather which can play havoc with our skin but fear not, Sarah from our ESPA Spa has put together a few simple but effective tips to help it stay healthy, nourished and protected………..

:Moisturising is key as cold conditions can strip the skin of its natural moisture leaving it feeling dry and looking dehydrated. Consider upgrading your moisturiser to a more concentrated product and use morning and night. The Optimal Skin Pro Moisturiser from our ESPA range is the perfect choice!

:Avoid extreme temperature changes, going from hot to cold or cold to hot and be cautious around constant air conditioning or heating systems.

:Ensure your skin is completely dry before going outdoors as the cold will encourage sensitivity.

:Reduce the use of acids and retinols and introduce Vitamin C and gentler products like facial oils or serums. The Optimal Skin Pro Serum is my favourite!

:Exfoliate a little less but increase mask application, focusing on cream masks.

:Don’t forget your lips, these can become dry and chapped in cold conditions so be sure to exfoliate them gently weekly and moisturise them daily. I use the Pink Pomelo Lip Balm from ESPA and it works wonders!

:Work on the skin from the inside out by drinking plenty of water, aim for at least 2 litres a day. This will boost hydration and retain moisture in the skin.

I hope these tips help until we can pamper you again! Stay warm and safe and we hope to see you all soon.
