Experienced Hotel Guest Relations Manager (Full Time)

We are currently accepting applications for an experienced Guest Relations Manager.  This is a full time permanent role and is based on a 5 over 7 day working week, including weekends and shift work.

Duties & Responsibilities

The experienced Guest Relations Manager will report directly to the Front Office Manager/General Manager.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting hotel services to guests while maintaining consistent standards of service, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.  One should create a work environment that supports the organisation's values.   Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Meet and greet guests as they check in and bid them farewell as they check out 
  • Review the arrival lists and prepare welcome amenities accordingly
  • Escort VIP's to their rooms
  • Attend promptly to our guest enquiries and assist them with their needs
  • Have a strong presence in the hotel lobby and maintain proper decorum at all times
  • Promote all the facilities of the hotel and know the surrounding areas when asked for directions
  • Be familiar with the best places to tour, shop, and dine
  • Liase with managers on any occurring issues or concerns
  • Work with other departments
  • Answer calls promptly and handle any hotel guest queries professionally and efficiently
  • Compile a guest feedback form on a weekly basis

Essential Experience & Skills

The successful applicant must have previous hotel experience.  He or she should be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills and be eager to exceed guests' expectations. The successful applicant must also have a positive can-do attitude and possess great attention to detail along with a diplomatic, friendly and polite manner.   Full flexibility with work hours is an absolute requirement for this role.

  • Previous experience with Opera
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experienced 'Afternoon Tea' Waiter/ess (Full Time)

The Maryborough Hotel & Spa is a charming old world mansion at the centre of natural parkland and now requires a full time experienced and dedicated'afternoon tea' attendant to provide a warm welcome, and offer our hugely popular afternoon tea service to our guests in a style that one would expect while visiting the Maryborough!

Our new recruit would be part of a large restaurant team however solely responsible for creating a memorable afternoon tea experience to all our guests.
The ideal candidate must be:

  • A fully trained waiter/ess
  • Able to speak fluent English
  • Friendly, outgoing and appreciate the hospitality industry and all that it represents
  • Maintain a calm demeanour during periods of high volume to keep our ‘afternoon tea’ service operating at a high standard at all times
  • Appear approachable, dress smartly and have excellent personal presentation skills, communication and customer service skills

  • Able to work in a team during quieter parts of the day

Spa Manager Required For The Maryborough Hotel Spa (6 Months Maternity Cover- Full Time)

We are currently seeking a self-motivated Spa Manager with proven experience in the Spa & Wellness industry. This is a 6 months Maternity cover position. The successful candidate will organise and manage the day to day running of the Spa while offering an excellent Spa experience to both members and guests. The successful candidate will be a highly interactive person who can demonstrate excellent motivational skills, be enthusiastic and enjoy working within a team.

Summary of Role:

  • Ensure the spa achieves or exceeds its set goals in relation to cost of operations and spa revenue, whilst providing the highest level of customer service
  • Motivate, evaluate and direct the team at the Spa
  • Necessitating the tranquillity and aesthetic beauty of the spa facilities in order to promote an appealing and relaxing environment
  • Maintain client database, schedule appointments
  • Follow up new business opportunities and set up meetings accordingly
  • Oversee the development of new marketing literature
  • Work closely with our in house Digital Marketing Executive on offers, season specials etc
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly reports
  • Responsible for increasing business through gaining new clients

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal Candidate must possess the following:

  • Minimum of two years managerial experience within the Spa & Wellness industry
  • Must hold ITEC, CIBTAC, and CIDESCO Qualifications
  • Proven People Management Experience
  • Marketing or Business degree is essential
  • Exemplary Communication skills
  • Proven Spa Leadership ability
  • Excellent organisational skills
