    From Cork City, she has Degree in Hotel & Catering Management, and has been working in the hotel since 2007. Before arriving at the Maryborough, she worked in various roles such as Duty Management and mostly recently as Conference & Banqueting Manager, which gave her a great insight in to the food & beverage aspect of the industry and an appreciation for customer service.     Mary Bernard

    Mary has been with the hotel since it’s opening in 1997. Having studied Hotel Management in Dublin, Mary spent her initial years in the industry working in France. From here, she returned to various sales roles in Ireland before joining the team at Cork’s leading 4* hotel. “Being involved in a start up operation was very exciting – being in the 13th year of operation with the hotel there is still a great sense of pride and loyalty”. She now heads up a strong sales team who oversee the turnover of all areas of the hotel, from accommodation to functions and all daily aspects of the business.

    Elaine Donnelly

    Elaine Donnelly hails from the Kingdom of Kerry. She successfully graduated from Shannon College of Hotel Management in 2004. Following a year gaining international hospitality experience in Germany and she went on to work as Duty Manager in Dublin.  Her career then took her back to Kerry where she spent 3 years as a Banqueting Manager.  In September 2007 Elaine perused her passion for weddings, where she began as a Sales Executive at the Maryborough specializing as wedding and events coordinator. Elaine loves dealing with each individual couple on the lead up to the ‘big day’. Her personal motto is that every wedding is different and unique, and her focus is to understand what each couple wants from their day and carrying that through to make it the best day of their lives.

    Sarah Moroney

    From Cork city, married with one adorable daughter.  Sarah completed her Masters Degree in International Tourism at the University of Limerick in 2000 has been working in the Maryborough since 2001 in various capacities - reception, duty management, front office manager and now as part of the reservations team. Her experience in the different areas of the hotel brings an appreciation of the hotels management style and customer focus to her work. She prides herself in providing excellent customer service and try to make every guest she encounters on the phone or by email feel appreciated and special – the customer journey starts here.  She deals with the bedroom side of weddings at the hotel and having had her own wedding reception here, she has an appreciation for how big a role the hotel can play in organizing that special day! Sarah says she has wonderful memories of her day at the Maryborough and hope the Maryborough brides will enjoy their day as much she enjoyed hers – Sarah always reminds all the Brides ‘ your wedding day will fly by but your Maryborough memories should last a lifetime’.

    Carmel O’Conner

    Carmel has worked in the hotel business in various capacities for a number of years. Most of her years were spent working in London where she gained valuable experience. She has worked as Reservations Manager in the Maryborough for the last 10 years and feels very much a part of the Maryborough family. She prides herself in having built up a rapport with many of her individual and corporate customers over the years and making sure their reservations are handled in a professional manner with absolute attention to detail.

    Katie Browne

    Katie Browne grew up in the Sea-side town of Ballybunion in Co. Kerry, she continued her Education in Cork and decided to stay, while still remaining very much a Kerry person at Heart!

    She has worked for the Maryborough Hotel for a number of years, starting in Reception and then moved in to the Sales Department to co-inside with the launch of the Spa & Leisure Development of the hotel.  What Katie loves about her job is working with people, the people she works with and the Clients and Guests of the Hotel.  Katie’s work Motto would be “You've got to love what you do to really make things happen”.
